I chose the X2 4200 chip (of course paid a lot more a couple of months
ago) and haven't regretted it. It's definitely faster than other
machines I've used, and I run mostly Vegas Video. I have a 2000 Athlon
sitting nearby that renders at about 1/2 real time (depending on the
amount of effects, etc). The 4200 renders at about 3X real time speed.
