Hey! We didn't have that silly paper-tape thing in your picture.
We had hard drives. With removable disc-packs! Each drive
was as big as a washing machine and held a whopping 10Mb.
I built an interface to connect a printer to it, so that console
typewriter was only used to operate it. The computer was old
when I had to maintain it in the 1970s, but it was all they could
afford.
My optical mouse likely has more computing power than that
whole computer. :-)
