On one hand, the trend seems to be towards more and
more compression. Witness MP3 and mini-DVD cam-
corders. (Of course, the compression has improved
over the years, also.)

On the other hand, We are starting to see consumer
camcorders with hard drives. As more and more
iPod-like devices are made, the cost of 2-inch hard
drives will drop in a similar manner to the rates we
have seen for 3.5 inch (desktop) drives.
