Its even harder for us because we don't know what you're
looking for? Scripting? staging? cinematography? lighting?
editing? All of those (and more) are part of the "look" of
80s horror films. Seems likely that if you could afford to
shoot on film, you could afford to hire a cinemaphotographer
who already knows how to do it.
Are you aware that there is a newsgroup specifically for
film production? news:rec.arts.movies.production It is
pretty likely that there are one or more people there who
have actually worked on 80s horror movies.
There are some methods for reproducing that 80s
horror b&w look with video if you work at it.
