If you are going to burn your converted video to DVD or recording
back to DV tape (you don't mention what you are doing with the
converted video) then you only need a one way converter, assuming
that you do NOT need to 'clean up' (re sync) your old VHS tapes[1],
then you might want to consider the ADVC55.
[1] in which case you are best going for the more expencive ADVC300.
