Hi...As someone else has pointed out, there are no "new" 900s....The reason
I got rid of mine was because the firewire port quit working, so I either
had to shell out to repair an aging camcorder or look at buying a new cheap
one to use as a deck....so I ended up getting a GL2

Yes the 900 was a very good camera, and very easy to use....I like the GL2
easily as much and particularily like it's 20X optical zoom lens and it's a
couple of years newer than the 900.
