What do you really care what your rig looks like? It's the performance that
counts.
You won't find a 100mm based Sachtler, O'Connor (my favorite), Miller or
Vinten fluid head for three hundred and fifty bucks that doesn't need at
least five hundred bucks worth of repair, and a door to door two week turn
around time.
Don't even consider buying an old O'Connor 30. You would be better off with
a new high end Manfrotto for the same money.
An old O'Connor 50D would be a total waste because the non adjustable spring
counterbalance is WAY to much for a lightweight camera like the PD150.
I know the Sachtler hot pod will accept at least an O'Connor 1030, because
just last week I saw one on a hot pod.
Get a good Manfrotto.
