I need to convert some home hi 8 mm reel to reel to mini-dv

I have several sony camcorders with digital mini-dv which I beleive I
can convert analog video to digital via a video/audio input, however,
do I need to get a special 8mmm projector to perform this?

I have the reels but not the projector, but I'm assuming I need to find
a projector with standard video/audio out. i aslo have video editing
software for later production to DVD, however, I want to go to mini-dvd
first.


I have family video my family wants to convert and also some practtive
reel to reel video to test quality with. Any help would be greatly
appeciated.
