Aren't you answering your own question already? :) Think about it, if you
start chopping in the frequencies which are in the spectrum of voice, the
voice will get seriously affected.

It's fun to start "hearing" eh? It's something I dealt with while teaching
my students, they never believed me. The one's who went into sound,
gradually discovered that if you actually listen (concentrate on the
sound), you hear so much more.
