Richard, PTravel thanks for replies and comments.
Sounds good to me, one head cleaning shouldn't hurt much between
using the older sony tapes and the tdk I use now.

Perhaps this was done to keep brand loyalty high, as fear of head clogging
is a good incentive to keep buying the same brand tapes IMHO.
