My guess is, it probably is overkill. If you have full control of the
shooting environment, you could use stronger lights and a cheaper camcorder.
To create an overall quality feel, I would pay attention to the
content/presentation, sound quality (use external microphone), video
editing, DVD encoding and packaging.
