Yes.. Pinnacle Studio 10, 9,8,7 are all trash.
You ought to be able to skip the scenalyzer step and do all of your cutting
in Premiere. Or use scenalyzer to do both until the solution is at hand. If
there are many people with the problem and Adobe is capable of fixing it
they will.
Is your firewire part of the motherboard or an installed card?
