Exactly the same reason I never buy "brand-name" desktop
machines. Don't have much choice for notebook PCs, though.
I'm using a Dell Inspiron 8500 and getting to the point where
I really want to do a "spring cleaning". They are supposed to
have a hidden hard drive partition with the content of all the
installation CDs. I'll find out soon enough.
