recording a live concert

Hi all...
My music group is putting on a gig and I'm planning on taping it....due to
our outrageously low budget...$0
I'm planning on having my GL2 set up high with a (balanced) audio feed from
the sound board and then just having it set to a wide shot to include the
whole stage....I'm also planning on having a video-enthusiast friend who
will be on, beside, close in front etc with his hand-held 3 chip Panasonic
(don't know exactly what model) to do close-ups etc.
I was going to just tell him to turn the camcorder on at the start of a set
(like the stationary one) and let it go to get one continuious tape (also
like the stationary one)
I plan to try to match up the audio and use video from both sources in
Premiere Pro.....Is there a feature that might let the audio "snap" to sync
with each other? I believe Liquid Ed. has some feature like this?
Any other suggestions and tips from you pros are most welcome....thanks in
advance...
Len
