If you can get a second recorder like a DAT walkman and use a stereo
pair i.e. Mid-Side or x-y, i think you should be able to get some
pretty good results. Bumperski's strobe sync idea can be implemented
with a disposable camera. Just hold it next to a mic and flash away
(at least 2 fields accurate.)
I am doing one this weekend with three of these sony HD camcorders that
don't support SMPTE time code. I run a slate sticks open with time
code fed from the record deck in freerun TOD and occasionally the
cameras pan over fo a visual time code reference.... This could be done
with a simple clock with at least a seconds display.
