Thanks for the clarification. I knew the two were different critters,
as raw video would quickly fill a DVD.

The results from recording Hi8 to the home DVD burner were so good
that it seemed a good path to follow. The results were far superior
to the very cranky Pinnacle DC30+ I have in my other computer!

Thanks for the clarification. I think I'll search for some Canopus
forums for further ideas regarding the converter boxes they have.
