We're shooting a music vid in Boston soon and the requirement is to have a
rear screen projection on set for many of the shots.
Don't ask.. it is an artistic thing !
We'd like to display hi-res backgrounds from a computer playing prepared
movies either from HDV or computer source..
The last rear screen work I have done was 35mm film. I suppose it is just a
matter of the proper screen and a capable high output projector.
I have also suggested we create some stills to turn the RP into a green
screen for backups and some comps. In fact.. wouldn't a rear projected green
screen be a good way to get a flat green without a lot of lights? Especially
if the subject is far enough in front?
Anyway.. if anyone has done this and lived through it.. I would appreciate
any input you may have.
We're contemplating shooting with the new Canon HDV..
The Canon has an uncompressed HD-SDI output.. Man.. I would love to grab
that for the FX shots.. 1.3Gb/Sec? hmmm.. what is the easiest, lightest way
to grab that? An HDCAM Deck?
Thanks for any answers.
