If the images on the screen are to background, then you may be obsessing
over nothing. Just set it up and do it. It's pretty straight forward.
On the other hand, if it's gotta "pop" out at you, and the images have to be
the star, then it would be worth getting enough time into the schedule to do
a test shot the day before. Maybe it can be done, maybe not, it's a
judgment call as to how good it has to look.
If the cameras are stationary, then you might shoot a safety with a green
plug in the screen and then you could matte it in. This would give the
added flexibility of allowing the "artistes" to change their minds about
what should be playing on the screens. (It may be worth it to do it this
way for this reason alone.) Of course, this gets trickier if the cameras
are moving. In any case, my preference would be for a painted plug instead
of the green projected screen.
