Unless there's something new on the market of which I'm not aware, all
HDV audio uses a sample size of 16 bits, never 12 bits. 12-bit is an
option in DV, but not in HDV.
Again, unless there's something new on the market of which I'm not
aware, HDV audio sampling rate is always 48 kHz. 384 kbps refers to
the total combined data rate of all channels (2 channels lossy
compressed at a 4:1 ratio at a 192 kbps per channel data rate in
normal HDV audio and optionally 4 channels lossy compressed at an 8:1
ratio at a 96 kbps per channel data rate on the Canon XL H1).
