Well first you need to decide how your DV footage needs to look different to
be seen as 16mm.
With the FCP colour correction you can change a lot of the characteristics
of your captured image but not by much without risking degrading the signal.
If of course you are looking at dropping fields and adding noise, maybe even
a bit of gate weave maybe even some dust and dirt then you will be applying
effects and probably need to render afterwards.
Personally I see all the above as a very poor attempt to make video appear
as film by adding to the vidoe images all the bad things of film.
But lot's of people seem to like that sort of image mangling so don't be put
off by my loathing of it.
