James C. Allison:
Hey Richard, it's another beautiful day. :)

I agree with the above. The saving grace of this is that I can get by
without all the MatroxVideoTools stuff, but it would be NICE to have them
working.

JCA:
Yes it is. And some day I'll tell you the story of my FIRST attempt at
putting together a DTV system. It was strange as could be... It'll make you
laugh. No, HONEST! :)

JCA:
I found that out with my first attempt... Dual 1 gig CPUs and the
motherboard didn't have i845 RAM chips... And although it was on the
"MatroxApprovedList", it was impossible to make work (wouldn't load the
software). So I did an about face, and got this Tyan Trinity i845 board, and
it has worked fine except for the problems that you have been helping me
with.

JCA:
I don't blame you one bit. AND I will say that if I ever put together
another system, it will not include Matrox.

JCA:
I tried to find an active forum, but they are all but dead, though I did
take your suggestion about looking into the
<alt.comp.periphs.videocards.matrox> and it seems to moderately active. I'm
going to be posting something there shortly.

JCA:
GREAT suggestion.

JCA:
Twas not my intention to be annoying... I'll watch that in the future.

JCA:
I knew this, BUT when I tried it, for some reason it didn't work. That was
the reason I asked the same question in several groups without cross
posting.

JCA:
Well, the image in WMP was alright, other than it was only the left half of
the image. The center of the image was at the extreme right side of the left
monitor, and the right half of the image didn't show up at all on the right
monitor. Besides, it was a complete accident that I even found that WMP
would come up at all. I just "happened" when I double clicked an .avi file
in my clip folder.

I have spent some of my morning installing an upper shelf in the
Sound/MusicStudio on which I have put the PC speakers, clearing space on the
shelf that they were on for a single drive audio cassette deck, a dual drive
audio cassette deck, and a stand alone CD player (all left over from my
pre-computer studio days).

The Sound/MusicStudio is slowly evolving as is the wont of such places.

Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to respond. And I hope you have a
wonderful day.

Regards

Allison
