When you're creating a new file in Photoshop, make sure that the background
is transparent (i.e. checkerboard pattern). Add whatever text you want and
save it in *.psd format. This is Photoshop's native format and Vegas will
recognize the transparency. I just tested this in Vegas 4, 5 & 6 and it
works just fine.
