I ended up just purchasing the iriver IFp-899. It just arrived
yesterday, and I tried plugging my lapel mic into it. The input level
of the mic was way to low to have the ifp record at a decent level.
After being disappointed, I then found the button battery on the lapel
mic was totally dead. I plan on getting a battery for it today and
giving it another try.
Let you know what I find.
