thanks TonyP, i'll probably wait awhile then :o) i do want to do the
upgrade but i'll probably wait for the SP issue :o)
we use LE6.1 to produce our weekly TV show and thus far it's been great for
us. we looked at going with Avid's Xpress Pro and didn't really like the
output issues we'd been hearing about although we have no personal
experience. i personally had a trial of it and was very pleased with the
operation although quite different than the timeline like LE and of course
liked the lower price tag of LE.
i'm just getting into the some of the FX's and we bought the Hollywood FX
pak and it seems to be loaded way beyond our simple usage thus far. i
especially like the Dekko titling and how simple it is to use and edit.
look forward to learning how to roll in separate clips and how to set mark
ins for the roll and effects for multiple scenes. we use the multicam snyc
with a clapper and thus far has been pretty seamless except on one program
where our capture had about 40 dropped frames in three different spots and
that was a bear but we managed to get through it - - of course it was our
first program, go figure, but since then we've only had a couple incidents
of dropped frames and not that much of an issue. we expect to get the
firestore fs-4's to eliminate the dropped frames issue, although we haven't
had but two since that first biggie.
look foward to learning more from paul mitton's video as time allows :o)
