The other night, I went to see the film "Match point" by Woody Allen at  
the local cinema. 
One of the opening scenes show a tennis ball moving in slow-motion. 
 
And there were very clearly visible "interlace artifacts". 
What I saw was in fact 2 slightly overlapping balls flying in the air. 
 
This makes me wonder: Has this film been processed as (digital) video  
during some production stage? 
And even if "yes", why the interlace?? 
 
I know for certain that the movie theatre in question uses conventional  
film projectors.
