Could I add to your question?
Presuming your video will end up on DVD, possibly projected:
Given inferior low-light performance and the MPG2 compression of
prosumer HDV cameras, would you be better off shooting native DV on a
VX-2000 than switching to an HDV camera, for pure quality at 4:3?
If you had to shoot 16/9, would you still be better off using the
VX-2000 in it's compromised 16/9 mode, or with a Century Optics
Anamorphic lens, or with, say, the HVR-A1U in 16/9 DV, or the HVR-Z1U
shooting 16/9 DV?
My hypothesis is that, right now, shooting 16/9 with a HVR-Z1U in DV
mode would give you the best raw footage. Am I wrong?
