highly recommed Avid's Liquid 7, simple to use, easy to learn, and most
formats fit on the timeline. a panasonic dvc60 can be had very reasonable
and about the 3rd level of 5 pro cam lines of panasonic. you don't need a
special capture card, just firewire and it connects right to the dvc60 and
captures accordingly.
