Ah yes, wrongly said by me. It's not removing, but black-balancing sets the
threshold of the CCD, and can make the bad pixel seem to disappear as well.
If the camera hasn't been used for a long time, it's a good idea to try
this first.
Since the OP is in Aus, if you're in Sydney, and need to have it fixed, or
ask for more ideas, check-in with Macray in Artarmon. These friendly folks
