novice advice on shotgun mics and recording dialouge

Hola,

Good to be here. Looking some friendly advice.

I am going to make my third short experimental art film (media kunst)
and looking for some to curb my indecision bout which way to record the
sound this time.

i will be recording mostly speech : that is interviews with single
person and dialogue between two or three persons (dramatic scenes) and
all shooting will be done indoors in tight spaces with little
reverberation.

So i am thinking about the best set up for this at the tiny budget i
have (which is 300€, 350$ , £210) to buy additional audio equipment
(i am shooting on a Panasonic semi pro DV camera and have MD and Hard
Disk to master sound to).

My thoughts were to combine an short shotgun mic (battery powered not
phantom) with lapel mics on the subjects and then output this to a
small mixer to booost the signal (if required), mix the levels and then
to the master.

I am not a hyper fetishist about sound and this production is not star
wars, it will the majority of the time be seen in gallery spaces on
TV's, so i am not looking for "perfection" or to enter a debate about
fidelity and aesthetics of sound recording. I just looking to capture
the dialogue cleanly, intellibably, sharply and accurately with little
noise or line interference, thus making it is easier to do post
production processing on.

So...

Shotgun mics i am thinking about are Sennheiser MKE 300-D,
Audio-Technica AT835b, Audio-Technica ATR55 (is this any good for the
price?), RODE VideoMic Directional Condenser mic.

Lapel mics, i need some advice on, looking for cheap ones, naturally.

Also the idea of outputting to a mixer to mix the sound between lapel
and shotgun mics is this a good idea? Too much noise?

Any advice or recommendations or experiences would be greatly
appreciated. Be Kind.

Best

James Whistle
