Just thought someone might find this interesting...
About a year ago I ripped a DVD using DVD shrink onto a cheap blank
DVD. Anyway all was well with this disk until last week when my stand
 alone player wouldn't play it.

Tried playing it on computer using PowerDVD and would only play a few
minuets and then freeze up. DVD shrink, DVD decrypter and CD Check all
indicated input output errors. OK so I have cheap media that has gone
 bad.

I also tried it on 4 different DVD drives with the same result.

Anyway, I had a copy of DVDFab Decrypter installed that I had never
used because DVD shrink has always handled everything I threw at it.

I took the bad disk and ran it through DVDFab Decrypter and it did
it's thing without reporting any errors. I checked the files it
created with CD Check and it also reported no errors and the RW disk I
burned with these files works fine on all my equipment.

This was not a issue of decryption because it had played fine for some
time and then went bad. Clearly the disk was giving read errors
because the physical media was failing.

I wonder if anyone knows what DVDFab Decrypter did that the other
programs could not do to recover from this damaged disk?
