It seems that Memorex has used a lot of suppliers for 4x +RW discs:

MKM.....A02

Some of them might actually be useful ;)

is used by a whole bunch of brands
I don't know how to tell before we by, so your conclusion might be
correct (along with the rest of the brands where there is a risk to
get a disc with an ID that you have in your black list).
This is getting complicated ...
Is the media code a unique identification or is it probable that the
quality and drive compatibility varies over different production lots
etc?
