I use a ATI Radeon 9250 with VIVO, (Video In, Video Out). I have captured
many VCR tapes to mpg2 and made video dvds from them. I have also used
Nvidia video cards with VIVO on them and they worked file, also. I have one
installed in a computer hooked to the tv for capturing video direct from the
digital cable box. That is a high quality video, better than capturing from
a vcr tape.
However almost any good (Nvidia or ATI) video card with vivo works. I have
never dropped a frame, with either NVidia or ATI cards, either. The program
I use to capture is Win DVD Producer (came with both cards), and I always
choose MPG2 as the capture type, and use ggood quality for the settings for
VCR tapes. That is what works for me. As for which one is best, ask 100
people and you will get 10 - 20 different answers.
