If you had RTFM, it would have told you that you can record in either VR
format or Video format (DVD compatible) . The VR format is more of a random
recording mode mainly used for time shifting and stuff where you intend to
delete and add shows to view randomly on the unit.

If you had formatted that DVD-RW disk in the VIDEO format, it would have read
just fine in your PC or Settop player.

You suck because you didnt RTFM, it had nothing to do with the sony.
