What OS are you using? Your symptoms point to a bad hard drive.
Have you done a complete surface scan?
I am using a Pioneer 08 and 09 under XP and never have any stability
problems or issues over many hundreds of burns.
Finally, I don't think Movie Factory hides the drive and image options at
all. The default is simply to DVD.
