The statement that the OP wants to "transfer the final image onto the hard
drive of my DVD recorder for the final transfer onto DVD" makes me think he
does not realize the final DVD can be authored directly on the PC, and that
this transfer stage is unnecessary. Surely all the OP needs to do is
o use TMPGenc DVDA to read the clips from a captured DVD
o use DVDA (or VideoReDo or some such) to edit the clips
o use DVDA to author the disks on the PC.
There will be no additional compression and therefore no loss in quality,
and no need to use a capture device for the PC that the OP may not have
readily available. I have done this previously with a DVD that was captured
on a DVD recorder in similar circumstances.
