 What about http://www.divxmovies.com/codec/

I found the correct Divx codec to use with AutoGK, so I will be
sticking with it. It appears to be identical to the one I had, which I
got free at the link above.

Now, can anyone tell me why it took 2 1/2 hours to convert a 45 min
episode from VOB to AVI using AutoGK/Xvid. I chose 1/3 CD resolution
and subtitles. Otherwise everything else was default.

I can render the same episode in TotalVideoConverter (after I convert
the VOB to MPG in VRD which adds a couple minutes) in about 40
minutes. The resulting AVI/Xvid is just as good quality as that from
AutoGK. Based on experience I would estimate that WinAvi could do it
 in even shorter time.

So what's causing the excessive processing with AutoGK? I am using a
19" Viewsonic Graphics Monitor and WinDVD to compare the quality with
the original and I cannot tell any difference. Maybe there would be a
difference on a very large screen LCD.
