 I just converted the full DVD title using AGK. The subtitle was
 "embedded into the video" (to use the terminology of the author of
 AGK).
 
 I copied the AVI file - and ONLY the AVI file - to a Data DVD disc and
 played it on my DVDR. The subtitle was present.
 
 You do not need any separate subtitle files when you use AGK to
 convert to XviD with a subtitle.
