I've had both CMC and MCC.  And when I got some TDK's from Costco 
I wound up with two different manufacturer IDs.  Since my external 
burner [ my first ] and the current internal had TDK brands I 
figured they'd re-brand disks that worked for them.  One set would 
burn at 8K the other got flaky and burned well at 4K.

TDK made some of the best CD-R disks available.  But I don't know 
that they ever made any DVD's themselves.  However their site 
has info on some HD or Blu-Ray disks that look like they are making 
them and have an extremely durable finish. 
 
I think the HPs I got were CMC. 
 
I'll try to dig out the disks and check the ID's tomorrow.
