I use a Sony combo rig, and surprisingly, it has held up rather well
over these last 18 months (longer than I ever anticipated), but it's
missing one feature that drives me nuts ... an AUTO-OFF.
Yes, this unit does have a power-off option. but it works for the VHS
tape side ONLY, not the DVD.
This doesn't make any sense to me when it should apply to either format
in the same deck, but that's why I'd like to know if there are any DVD
players (or recorders) out there that would allow me to go to sleep to
a title without the rig staying on (and in play mode) the entire night.
I've looked around, but to no avail ... nothing I've found boasts an
auto-off mode, but maybe that's because I've been looking in all the
wrong places?
