I don't share your apparent view that electronic goods manufactured in
Asia are crap. I've had excellent experiences with nearly all of my
purchases of electronic equipment. You're right, though, if you're
only seeing ~18 months from your equipment, then I suspect abuse (or
kids or pets, etc., which some would also place into the abuse
category).

Again, no problems here. Maybe you're just not a smart shopper.

I take it you're either unable or unwilling to answer my question, but
that's fine because it's your problem, not mine. I don't care how much
it bugs you to not have an auto-off feature.

Shop wherever you want. You'll very quickly find that brand name
electronics are available at numerous retail outlets, whether brick
and mortar or online. If you don't like Wal-Mart, shop elsewhere. I
only used it as an example. It's certainly not the only place I shop.
