I have a Sharp DVD Recorder that's only a couple of months old. It takes
DVD-R blank discs but only 4X. When you put 8X's in it gives you an error
saying that the disc is possibly not playable and does not allow you to
record on it. Sharp technical support said the 8X's are too thick and only
4X's work in any DVD recorders. Is he just blowing hot air or is there
something to this.
The even weirder part is that if I take the same DVD-R 8X disc and burn a
movie on it on my computer it plays perfectly on the Sharp unit.
Anyone else have this problem.
With more and more DVD's being 8X minimum where does that leave people with
DVD Recorders. Are there any 8X's that work in this situation? The DVD's I
was using are Sony.
