Hi,
Is there a sequence that resets the machine to factory presets?
Are there any hidden remote control or front panel sequences that can get
me into a maintenance menu for the hard drive?
After more thorough reading of the manual I found this. "The Picture
freezes and the front panel and the remote control buttons stop working:
Press Standby/On for 10 seconds until the power switches off". Well
here's where I unplugged the unit, but after about 5 minutes. It took me
an hour of scanning the manual before I found that message. But would
that have fixed the problem?
So far Pioneer has no solution except to reformat and hope for the best.
They don't guarantee that will work. But they do guarantee that all the
files will be lost.
One new piece of information:
I just learned that I can use the "One Touch Copy" button to do High-Speed
Copies to a VR mode DVD-RW from the hard Drive . This tells me that the
drive is working but the directory info got corrupted when I deleted the
last file. This also indicates that there must be someway for the factory
to recover the data without wiping the drive.
Anyone have any thoughts on this finding?
Any technical advice would be appreciated.
