Thanks Brain for your post.
I recently discovered that "One Touch" works as mentioned in an earlier post.
I went out and bought 25 -RWs and will start the copy process. These are x2
copy speed, so I calculate 12hrs just to get them off the HDD, and 6hrs to
copy them back. Then I will be able to function as before.
I appreciate you post because it is almost identical to mine. The moral of
the story is do not unplug unless your sure it won't finish the task. The
manual says to hold the Standby/On key for 10 secs to force a power off.
Wish I would have known. However when I talked to Pioneer, they did not even
know about that feature. I had to tell the page number and read it to them
before they believed it. However that still might not have saved the HDD.
They also never heard of an HDD that worked with "One Touch" after an HDD
ERR. So don't depend on the experts to have expert information. They know
less than I do.
