The manual only lists DVD-R and DVD-RW discs as being compatible with
the DVD recorder.
I never play discs on the DVD recorder unless I'm dubbing from a DVD
to the hard drive. I find it's better to have a DVD player and most
DVD players handle a wide range of discs including DVD+RW discs. It's
also less wear and tear on the DVD Recorder if I don't use it as a DVD
player.
