The manual says it supports Audio CD, Video CD, CD-R, CD-RW,
DVD-Video, DVD-R and DVD-RW.
Super Video CD (Super VCD) is also supported.
Playback of jpeg, wma, mpg and mp3 is supported.
I have not tried to play a DVD+R/RW disc on this Pioneer DVD recorder.
When I find my DVD+R disc I'll try it.

Pioneer made a very good DVD recorder that's loaded with features, so
I'm only likely to upgrade if bluewave technlogy becomes available as
it would be nise to recorder longer thasn 2 hours in standard quality
mode (SP).

I spend money on a good quality DVD player and found the sound quality
on the DVD player better. Don't get me wrong as the sound quality on
the Pioneer DVD recorder is still good. The DVD player can also
playback DivX files and Super audio CD's. If I'm recording to a DVD
using my DVD recorder then I don't have to wait for the recorder to
finish before I can play my video DVD.
I record 4 TV programs a day to the hard drive of the DVD recorder. 2
of the programs are broadcasted when I'm asleep in bed.
The hard drive on the DVD recorder should last longer than a video
head on a VCR.
