Or if you can find it try a no name brand like Yamakashi. It’s a dvd/divx
player I just bought for under 50 euros. It seams funny but this little gem
has:
- standart format support (DVD, DIVX (3.1 up to 5), XVID, MP3 and all the
rest)
- Dolby AC-3, DTS
- 5.1 sound
- Composite video output
- S-Video output
- Component Video output (YUV)
- VGA !!!!!
- SCART
- 2 CH output
- 5.1 CH output
- Coaxial output
- Optical output
And a whole lot of other funcions.
Now Im not your tipical user beacouse I have a rather large collection of
movies (over 1000), a similar amount of musin in mp3 format and then there
are Animas and TV series. Now as you can imagine all of this means that I
have a lot of different codecs to play around with. I have tried a number
of brand name divx players including a few KISS (yes, I did try the 1500
series and frankly it sucks). None of these players met my requirements for
a good player. Namely to be ably to play over 95% of my collection. I was
going to give up and just set up a good media PC but I stumble on this no
name player and decided to give it a try.
Now I’ve been playing with it for around 2 days and I’ve probably gone
throe more then 200 files and I can honestly sad that it played every
single one of them (with an exception of a highres MKV file witch I didn’t
expect at all and witch most users will never see (the format is almost
exclusively used for anima high quality anima encoding))
The only problem is…I have no idea who produces these things, there is no
web site, nothing… but if you run into this player, my recommendation is to
buy it on the spot.
The full name of the player (as it stands on the manual) is: DVD YAMAKASHI
