No vertical deflection, caused by either failed component, or bad solder
joint. Get an estimate of repair, if the cost of a new set is less than
double the estimate, get a new TV. Or check into used sets. Or look in the
paper for personal auctions. I picked up a 4 year old 60" Pioneer big
screen for less than $500 once. Still watching it. If you have the time to
attend, personal estate auctions can be a treasure trove of very high
quality electronics at very low prices.
