I have standardised on the following
For movies
I use fixed width of 720 and 1 CD size (700meg)
For typical 1 hour docos I still use fixed width of 720 but half a CD.
by selecting 720 rather than auto I believe the end results are subjectively
better but at the cost of processor time.
A few movies that are of really good quality I have used the max file size
of 2gig and forced AC3 sound obviously burning to a DVDR
In the hidden menu accessible after you have selected a file then press
control F9 the only change I make is 'accurate colour correction' rather
than the default 'fast'
On some foreign movies with burnt-in subs in TV transmission sometimes I
changed the bottom of the screen cropping from 34 pixels to zero so as g's
y's etc are not cropped.
