Hi - Im trying to instal Winmx, and come across this msg.

I have no idea what it means and what I am supposed to do

WinMX was unable to make an outgoing TCP connection to its test servers.
This could be because the computer isnt currently directly connected to the
internet, you are on a Local Area Network, and need to use a SOCKS proxy
server to make outgoing TCP connections ot there is a temporary network
problem.

I am on line, I use ADSL and XP HEdition, I dont have the problem of having
to use a SOCKS proxy for anything else.

Is there a network problem, or do I need to use the proxy server, if so -
how?


If you're not using 2.54 in the 2.2 patch from www.winmxgroup.com go get it
and use it.


I meant 3.54.....
