When installing a Panasonic DMR-ES10 DVD recorder, I have the following
problem. The machine does a search for all the channels and at the end,
instead of showing channel 1, it displays a snowy screen, as if the
timer was on. I thought the machine was defective, so I took it back to
the shop. They tried it out there, and it worked fine.
I've brought it home and tried installing it again, but I get the same
snowy screen.
By the way, if I access the manual tuning section, I can see the
channels underneath all the menus but, once I come out of manual
tuning, I get the snowy screen again.
The DVD is replacing a VCR which picks up the channels correctly
(though a
few have a ghostly shadow around the images).
What's going on?
